The Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) Joint Science and Technology Office (JSTO) is the sole component of the DoD responsible for research and development of technologies that safeguard the Joint Force, our nation, and allies from the threat of chemical and biological weapons. DTRA JSTO provides capability development investments that maintain the U.S. military’s technological superiority in countering weapons of mass destruction and asymmetric threats, mitigates the risks of technical surprise, and responds to the Joint Force’s urgent technical requirements.
