Capacitech manufactures a wire-shaped energy storage device that can be built into power cables!

Capacitech Energy is manufacturing a wire-shaped energy storage device that we call the Cable-Based Capacitor (CBC). It is a thin, flexible wire that can be easily added to DC power cords to do what capacitors do best i.e. provide backup power, extend battery life, or act as a buffer/filter. 

Power electronics feaure larger capactors in the circuit's input and output. These capacitors take up a lot of space. With the CBC the capacitors can be built into the DC power cords instead of on the circuit! This will help designers miniturize the design or add new functionality!
